Never pay anyone who promises you a job
Fake job adverts cost Sri Lankan families money every week. Here is how to spot them, and what we do about them on this site.
Warning signs of a job scam
- They ask for a registration fee, training fee, uniform fee or any “refundable deposit”.
- They ask you to hand over your passport, NIC or bank card.
- The pay is far higher than similar jobs, with no interview or experience needed.
- They move you to Telegram or a WhatsApp group instead of meeting you.
- Overseas jobs offered by anyone who cannot show a Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) licence.
What we do
- Every employer is checked against its business registration before its jobs show the Verified badge.
- Adverts that mention fees, deposits or passports are held for review automatically.
- Adverts may not limit jobs by gender, age, religion, ethnicity or appearance.
- Any job reported three times is taken offline until our team checks it.
Payments on this site
- We never sell jobs and never promise that you will be hired. Employers decide who they hire.
- Creating and editing your CV cost nothing, and your first application is free. Any plan adds unlimited PDF downloads of your CV. Credits pay for sending more applications and for CV tools such as tailoring.
- We never ask for cash, bank transfers or “job fees”. The only payments on this site go through Stripe.
- Employers here may never ask you for money. Never pay an agent or anyone else who promises you a job.
Jobs from other websites
We also show remote jobs listed on other job boards. We have not verified these employers. Each remote job names the job board or careers page it comes from, with a link to its advert. The same rule applies everywhere: never pay anyone who promises you a job.
If something feels wrong
Use the “Report this job” link on any of our job pages, or email support@jobify.lk — also about a listing from another site. For fraud, you can also contact the Sri Lanka Police or the SLBFE for overseas jobs.
