Head of Growth
Location: Remote - Europe, Asia, the Middle East or Australia
Employment: Permanent
Function: Growth and Marketing
About the company
We’re working with a crypto security company that helps protect users from scams, phishing and malicious on-chain activity. Its consumer product identifies potential threats before users interact with suspicious websites or transactions.
The company has built an established user base and is now focused on reaching more active crypto users and expanding its distribution.
The role
We’re looking for a Head of Growth to lead user acquisition and retention for a consumer crypto product. You’ll work directly with the founders to set the growth strategy, identify the most valuable user segments and build new distribution channels.
The focus is on attracting and retaining users who meaningfully engage with the product—not simply increasing installs or sign-ups. You’ll build the growth function and take direct responsibility for its results.
What you’ll do
Own user growth and retention: Lead acquisition, activation and 30-day retention, with clear measures for acquisition cost, retained users and revenue.
Identify valuable user segments: Assess crypto audiences, trading behaviours and markets to prioritise users based on long-term value.
Build distribution partnerships: Develop relationships with wallets, exchanges, DeFi protocols, NFT platforms and other crypto products.
Grow through KOLs and communities: Work with crypto influencers, communities and industry partners to reach relevant audiences. Develop timely campaigns around security incidents and emerging threats.
Develop referral and product-led growth: Partner with engineering on referral incentives, sharing features and other ways users can introduce the product to others.
Test and scale acquisition channels: Experiment with search, sponsored newsletters, content, community distribution and browser extension store optimisation. Measure results and invest in channels that perform.
Own growth reporting and commercial outcomes: Track the journey from installation through activation, retention and user activity. Use the data to improve acquisition efficiency and show the impact of growth initiatives.
Work directly with the founders: Set priorities and targets, shape the strategy and lead execution.
Requirements
What we’re looking for
Proven B2C growth experience: You’ve helped scale a consumer product and can show measurable results in users, activation, retention or revenue. You can explain your personal contribution, the starting point and the outcome. Experience scaling a product from hundreds of thousands of users to millions is especially relevant.
Strong crypto knowledge and industry relationships: You understand DeFi, wallets, exchanges, trading behaviour and crypto communities. Relationships with protocols, KOLs, communities or distribution partners are a plus.
Experience growing beyond paid advertising: You’ve driven measurable growth through partnerships, referrals, communities, influencers, organic distribution or similar channels.
Strong commercial and analytical judgement: You understand how acquisition cost, activation, retention and user activity affect revenue. You use data to assess user quality and distinguish sustained engagement from sign-up volume.
Ability to build and execute independently: You’ve taken growth initiatives from planning through execution, tested different approaches and made decisions based on results. You’re comfortable setting targets and owning performance in a lean environment.
Why consider this role
You’ll lead the growth strategy for a crypto security product with an established user base and room to expand through new channels and partnerships. Working directly with the founders, you’ll have the scope to identify valuable audiences, test ideas and build a growth function with clear commercial impact.
Your work will also help bring tools that protect crypto users from scams and malicious activity to a wider audience.
Application questions
Please include brief answers to these questions with your application:
Tell us about a consumer product you helped scale. What was its starting user base, how much did it grow, over what period, and which initiatives did you personally lead?
Describe your experience growing a crypto product or acquiring crypto users. Which audiences did you target, how did you reach them, and what measurable results did you achieve?
Give an example of an acquisition initiative you led that did not rely primarily on paid advertising. What channels did you use, and what results did they generate?
How have you measured and improved the quality of users acquired? Which metrics did you track across acquisition, activation, retention and revenue, and how did they affect your decisions?
Tell us about a time you built a growth strategy or function from scratch. How did you identify opportunities, prioritise channels and measure success?
